FUNCTION: Stores iron in a soluble, nontoxic, readily available form. Important for iron homeostasis. Has ferroxidase activity. Iron is taken up in the ferrous form and deposited as ferric hydroxides after oxidation.CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: 4 Fe2+ + 4 H+ + O2 = 4 Fe3+ + 2 H2O.SUBUNIT: Oligomer of 24 subunits. There are two types of subunits: L (light) chain and H (heavy) chain. The major chain can be light or heavy, depending on the species and tissue type. The functional molecule forms a roughly spherical shell with a diameter of 12 nm and contains a central cavity into which the insoluble mineral iron core is deposited.
FTH1 antibody can be stored at 4 grades C for short term (weeks). Long term storage should be at -20 grades C. As with all antibodies care should be taken to avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles. Antibodies should not be exposed to prolonged high temperatures.

This antibody needs to be stored at + 4°C in a fridge short term in a concentrated dilution. Freeze thaw will destroy a percentage in every cycle and should be avoided.
Ferritin heavy chain antibody can be used for the detection of Ferritin heavy chain by ELISA and Western Blot, may also work for ICC and IHC.
If you buy Antibodies supplied by proscience they should be stored frozen at - 24°C for long term storage and for short term at + 5°C.
